My Attraction for the Commercial Video

Recently I have just come across an award winning commercial called ‘Leila’ by Organ Donor Foundation of South Africa. The idea of the commercial is quite brilliant. The storyline of the commercial is about a little girl dressed in white walks over a highway to lay down on the road next to a motorcycle driver who was just in a fatal accident. The commercial ended with the main message of ''If you're not an organ donor when you die, you take someone with you.''

My liking for this commercial actually began out of sympathy for the innocent girl in the story. I feel great sympathy for those of the people waiting the organs which they require them for surviving. One person to be organ donor, he or she can save others or as many live as possible, here is the main message of it.  The commercial tells us that if you are an organ donor, you’re actually giving ill people a chance to have a life that was never possible before.

As I mentioned early, one of the thing attracts me of this commercial is the sentimental and emotional approach. The plot of this commercial is not really straight forward, but simple to interpret, it is created to evoke a deeper meaning in the mind of the viewer. A good and memorable commercial should touch the essence of humanity.

Besides that, the direction of this commercial is good. Instead of the idea and message, another element that makes this a good commercial is the selected song. Not only the story, but the selected song plays a significant role to present the whole story of it. The sentimental song of ‘Use Somebody’ is definitely the most appropriate song for this commercial. Of course when I searching more information of this commercial, more things I have found. Besides of this, the song also being featured in a MTV video (<---click).

(I think this commercial review should enough for my assignment...)
