Advertising Campaign 1 / Print ads/ Final Project 2/ World Heritage Site: Penang
这是我们Advertising Campaign 1的第一份Group作业。从Idea of print ads到 logo development,再从photography到copy-writing等,才发现这份作业还真需要很多方面的人力和物力资源才能完成这一系列充满老槟城情怀的print ads (拍摄过程<---click)。
配合我们使用的怀旧主题,我们使用了深棕色类似老照片的色调把'穿梭时空'的点子串连起来,让到来的参观者有着回到老槟城的感觉。从以前依然保留到现在的古老房屋和三轮车,往本地的食、住、行的生活中探索而勾起处于想当年'当我们同在一起'的回忆。虽然怀旧和传统复古味重未必可讨好所有人,但我们仍觉得这一份'初作'已经是不错了,至少是可以摆出来呈现。

The process began with analyzing Penang’s history, heritage buildings, and local business and how the team finds out the unique selling points use to achieve a competitive advantage.
The team has creating “Timeless Penang”, an advertising tourism campaign in Penang promoting timeless heritage lifestyle as a unique and memorable experience for backpackers to experience. The concept behind the campaign is that ‘those that visiting the George Town get to feel the old world charm of Penang’, targeting at the international tourists whose wish to experience the local heritage lifestyle and get familiar with it through heritage mansions (living), heritage cafe (food) and heritage transportation. The three print ads feature a backpacker visiting Penang just like going through time-traveling to the past of the island to experience the timeless lifestyle of the local community.
logo design process
The logo of Timeless Penang is inspired by old-style seal of passport. It’s a reflection of the classic style to convey a timeless quality.

The central idea behind the logo reflected the unique selling point being focus on the old and historical stuff that still remain in Penang.

The sepia feel and brownish colour moldboard is being used for the campaign for all communications, including the website, leaflet, postcard and other materials.
