还好选择的是一本超现实梦幻的童话故事书…还好对象是小朋友…还好有朋友们的帮忙…概念不错，大概式的说明故事部分的内容…尚且还好…还好…还好…
My idea for designing the book cover is showing the destiny of the children is being controlled by the Magician at the first beginning before the whole marvelous adventure begins. From the design, you can see that the half part of the wicked Magician is holding three enormous rings (in which I have exaggerate the size of the rings to make it more graphic and dramatic of the story) to trick the children to put on the rings.
I have arranged the rings to help all the elements consistent. The two children are running from one ring to another ring, traveling from a location to another location: beginning from Our World (on the left) to the forest in between (the middle), to a desolate abandoned city of the ancient world of Charn (in the upper part), finally at the end to a new-born Narnia (at the right). The lamppost is very important as the story tells that how a lamppost is existed in Narnia, so I just put in like an important symbol.
I love the hand-painted image aesthetic, using colour pencils and water colours to create the colourful visual with childish mood as this book is promoting to children. I keep the colours bright for the middle part; within the area of the three rings for emphasize the story part of Digory and Polly.
