A wooden Ningyo with array of gorgeous colours of the traditional Japanese papers, washi ~
☛ "Japanese Dolls, for which the broadest term is ningyo (which written with two characters meaning ‘human figure’) have spiritual significance; they seal friendships, protect or purify those who use them, and help young girls and boys explore their roles in society. Their story also reflects the development of religious and political, ideas and an economy of local crafts for export. They may be made of wood, reeds, paper, pottery, or even ivory, and dressed in the finest cloth, often woven or painted especially with appropriately tiny motifs."
Still remember I bought this ARCH 2D wood veneer magnet (the wooden ningyo) during a seminar talk in KL. When putting it on the recently bought washi papers take photograph together, they can look perfect match. Well, just find interesting, object with both textures and colours could be as a source of inspiration and so I give it a go. Creating photos and draws inspiration from every situation.
